I have been writing and playing with English chanteuse - and by now also dear friend- Ali Rogers since late 2006. Puracane’s latest album “I’ve been here the longest” was written and produced mostly by the two of us.
Puracane’s sound could be described as Trip-Hop with an edge. The band has been often compared to Portishead although
both Ali’s voice and the arrangements are more rock-driven.
In the latest album, I played guitar, keyboards and programmed the electronics and beats. Andrew Griffiths played drums and Drew Thurlow played bass. Producing and recording the album was a long process, interwoven with plenty of personal stories that permeated each one of the songs in a unique way. The album is dark, and Ali and I are not surprised. As much as we can argue and squabble during the writing process we both are happy and proud of our musical offspring.
Puracane’s current line-up includes bassist Chris Lee and drummer Uka Gameiro on drums. We are currently presenting “I’ve Been Here The Longest” in the NY area and gearing up for a wider tour in the upcoming months.
