05.15.08 - Keeping busy... as you can imagine, the Puracane album is still onthe works, we are getting pretty perfectionist about it, but it's totally worth it. It's almost finished now and hopefully we'll release it soon via an independent label I'm not supposed to mention... ;) I also been actively composing for a documentary about Gilberto Aceves Navarro, a renowned Mexican painter. The film is beautiful and the words of wisdom of this elderly artist are not to miss. The core instrumentation for the score will be piano, cello and clarinet, and of course it will be recorded by live musicians. It's really refreshing to only focus in the music and staves regardless of filters, EQs, delays and all the electronic components I've been using lately in my music. It is like coming back to a place you haven't been in a while and you start wondering why you haven't visited more often... more soon. ¬¬¬¬ Happy belated new year! The Puracane album is in its final stages and we are very pleased with the material. It's been a long and somewhat complicated process, involving lots of pretty intense personal shit as well, for all of us. In the meantime, I also been composing for a Mexican TV series that should air sometime soon. Life after the Puracane album looks beautifully uncertain, I've been so focused on this for so long that it's going to be refreshing to redirect my creative energies to some other projects. It's coming. ¬¬¬¬ 07.31.07 - Well, it's been a while since I haven't updated my website and I'm currently on the process of vamping it up. In these last months, I've been busy playing, composing and producing the new Puracane album with Ali and the guys. It's kinda close to be done, and we hope to release it by the end of the year.
